Two men and a truck moved me and broke the legs off my ping pong table and tore one of the arms on a practically new leather office chair. I was not there when they unloaded my belongings because the truck broke down and was 6 hours late arriving at my new address. I had to return to my old address and go to work the next day. It was a week later before I got back to my new address. I immediately noticed the damage and reported it. They said they would get back with me and never did. When I called again they said I had no proof they broke it. I said I didn't sign a release for previous damage like they had me do on scratches and anything else they noticed prior to loading. They then told me I did not file a damage claim within 96 hours and they were not paying it. When I was interviewing movers they sold me that they would replace anything that they damaged and there was no mention of 96 hours. 2 Men and a Truck was the most expensive bid I got but I went with them because of there insurance coverage and previous good experience with another franchisee. I will never use 2 Men and a truck again and will make sure I spread the word on what a joke their insurance coverage is.
IF YOU NEED TO MOVE, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THE MOVERS WHO CAME TO THE HOUSE DID A GOOD JOB OF PACKING THE TRUCK. IT SEEMED THEY WERE VERY ORGANIZED. THE ESTIMATE WAS FOR BETWEEN 14-16 HOURS. THEY WERE ALSO STORING MY PROPERTY FOR 6 DAYS AND THEN BRINGING IT TO NEW HOME. I ASKED THE MOVERS BEFORE THEY LEFT THE HOUSE IF THEY THOUGHT THEY WOULD NEED TO UNLOAD THE TRUCK AND LOAD IT AGAIN AND THEY SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE MANY MOVES SCHEDULED, SO 'HOPEFULLY' NOT. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THEY HAD 6 TRUCKS THEY USED FOR MOVING. WHEN THEY ARRIVED AT THE NEW HOME I CAN SEE THAT THE TRUCK WAS LOADED DIFFERENTLY. IT WAS ACTUALLY A MESS. LOOKED LIKE ITEMS WERE JUST THROWN INSIDE AND CLOSED THE DOOR. WHILE THEY WERE MOVING ITEMS IN THE HOUSE I HEARD A LOUD BANG INSIDE THE TRUCK. ONE MOVER WAS IN THE TRUCK, THE OTHER OUTSIDE OF IT. THEY LOOKED AT EACH OTHER AND TALKED BUT NEVER SAID ANYTHING TO ME. THEY SUGGESTED IN ORDER TO SAVE ME MONEY THAT WE PUT ALL BOXES IN THE GARAGE AND THEY WOULD THEN BRING FURNITURE IN. TIPPED THEM WELL, AND WHEN I STARTED GOING THROUGH BOXES I FOUND MANY ITEMS DAMAGED. FULL DISCLOSURE, I PACKED ALL OF MY BOXES, AND I HAVE MOVED MANY TIMES ON MY OWN. I HAVE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH BROKEN ITEMS. THE DAMAGE DID NOT AMOUNT TO MORE THAN $100, BUT THE GM SAID SINCE THEY DID NOT PACK THE BOX, THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE. IN MY OPINION, THEY ONLY UNLOADED THE TRUCK TO PAD HOURS ONTO THE MOVE. THE COST TO ME AT THE END OF THE MOVE WAS 23 HOURS AND $2600.00. WHAT A RIP OFF. YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF USING A HIGHER PRICED MOVER OR DO IT YOURSELF. THIS OCALA, FL COMPANY IS AWFUL.
Last time we ever use TWO MEN AND A TRUCK movers! They were horrible. I usually don't vent, but I don't want others to go through the same. We had never used movers before, but I would NEVER recommend them. One of the guys was standing around and on his phone, while being paid by the hour. Then the icing on the cake was when they dropped one of our cabinets, which scratched it and broke the door. We filled out a report. When we called corporate we are told they the mover says that he didn't drop it! He lied and they didn't even side with the customer. They are doing nothing about it. Not to mention the other smaller dents and scratches...but anyways. No customer service. They supposively insure that if anything breaks they will fix it, but when push came to shove they did absolutely nothing. Very sad. Anyways...just venting. Glad the move is over.
